Cirtexhosting.com – When You Want a One Star Rated Host

Cirtexhosting is my first review of 8 hosts for October 2010 webhostingstuff.com’s top 25.  With this host I find that I have failed at keeping track of what hosts are new.  As I have listed this as a new host in October and November 2010.  So as I work on a forum for the site I also work on a actual list that will be added to the forum so I don’t repeat this mistake.

When I first saw this site the first thing that got my attention was the 60% rating, 3 out of 5 stars.  I don’t tend to think in terms of how many stars a site gets, but what percentage of approval a site has of its customers.  Upon further review of those reviews over the last 6 months they have a 1 star rating.  Which is clearly shown on webhostingstuff.com.  For that matter there is not a positive review this year on webhostingstuff.

www.webhostingstuff.com/review/CirtexHosting.html

Webhostingstuff  may have Citexhosting in the top 10, but their own reviews don’t justify their ranking

The complaints I have seen seem at first to be in relation to an outage.  But the further back I go this year the more I see the same complaints.  People are complain about slow response from servers, downtime, and lose of data.  There are complaints in regards to support. The further I research I find indivdual sites and forums that that indicate these problems have been going on for years. For that matter it appears one of their staff respond to this forum in 2008 and even admitted to issues there company had.

http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=682566

This is the part where I don’t act as a customer advocate, and divert from the subject of cirtexhosting.   While I can understand the pain of losing a site, regardless of how good a host is the customer must always make certain if a sites data is valuable they do frequent back ups.  I am probable the most frantic of data hoarders you will ever meet.   I have copies of my most valuable data on multiple servers, back up services, usb drives,  network drives, and not to mention the computers that I have.   If this site was down I might at worse lose a days worth of data.

cirtexhosting – Just because they say nice things does not mean they will stay

When I went to the home page the first thing I find is this review, I thought I would check out where they were hosted.  Turns  out this customer changed their dns no later then August 7, 2009 to dreamhost.

More testimonials from Cirtexhosting

So after finding the first review was no longer hosted by this host I thought I would go to http://www.cirtexhosting.com/testimonials.shtml and decided to see where the rest of the sites were pointing.

These sites are not pointing to Cirtexhosting:

Translation: Site – host – my notes

kirkportas.com – NEARLYFREESPEECH.NET – Not active – dns last updated October 2010
shinyshack.com – 123-REG.CO.UK – dns last updated August 2009
dewinddesigns.com – ntt.net – ppc place holder – created Oct 2010? not sure what to make of this * ncsweb.us – HAWKHOST.COM – dns last updated March 2010
dijitaldunyaforum.info -peer1.net – has a link to Cirtexhosting, dns las updated May 2010
vantagecrest.com – LUNARPAGES.COM – dns last updated February 2010

* dewinddesigns.com may be an expired domain that was picked up for the purposes of a pay per click landing site.

These sites are pointing to Cirtexhosting:

afriendlyhome.com – CIRTEXHOSTING.COM – However the only thing that is up is a construction page

sentuken.net – CIRTEXHOSTING.COM – owned by Cirtex Corp

brentwoodweb.com appears to be the only review / site that is being show case that is actual indepently owned / working website on CIRTEXHOSTING.COM dns.

You might wonder why I don’t consider afriendlyhome as a valid review. Frankly just having a construction page is a good indicator that they have probable not used the account. The most that I can tell is that they set up an email and a index page. According to the dns records the site’s dns was updated 22-jul-2006. It appears the site has been doing nothing for 4 years.

Perhaps Cirtexhosting bought sentuken.net on behalf of a client.  It happens, and I have done this for hosting customers.  Often I would take the funds out of my own pocket due to the length time the customer spent with us.  Not something I recommend.  But still even if this was on behalf of the client, it to has a construction page.  Worst yet it promises a launch of September 2009. Both sites may go years before being used.

I had such a client that had paid for their account for 5 years while it did nothing.  I almost got my head handed to me when I decided to cancel her account.  The customer  did not notice that I deleted her account, but that I had not charged her.  She simply wanted the account ready for when she did get time to work on her site.  The funny thing is the very day she decided to use it, she wanted to upgrade. But still reviews are useless if you do not actively use the account.

This could become a very long post as I have done a glancing look through most other review sites, forums, and sites that have posted person rants on their own sites.  The bulk of what I post here is from webhostingstuff and cirtexhosting.   There is still a lot more of detail to look at cirtexhosting, perhaps a post for another day.

Webhostingstuff – September 2010 in review

Last night I finale finished the list for Webhostingstuff’s new hosts for September 2010.  September is the first time that I find hosting companies that offer free hosting as a gimmick to get people to switch over to paid hosting.   Its also the point where we see Fatcow leave the list.  Soon the iPage and Justhost the last of the Endurance International Group on this list in my October review which I will be working on right after this post.

Here is the short summary of these 6 websites I found in my September 2010 review.

Webhostingstuff’s 1 – 10 September 2010

kvchosting.com

https://hosting-reviews-exposed.com/webhostingstuff-com/kvchosting.html

A company that offers free hosting. Which is often used to get people into paid accounts.

They list one too many sites that are not really awards or are questionable awards. Claims to have been formed 2008, even though domain was created 2009.

Awardspace.com

https://hosting-reviews-exposed.com/webhostingstuff-com/awardspace-what-is-so-rewarding.html

On the plus side, when I confronted them on chat about a hate site, they removed it in seconds.

On the bad side they were listed on webhostingstuff’s fake top 25.  They offer free hosting often used to get customers in, only to push customers towards buying service.   They pay out 50% commisions which is too high to make sure customers get quality service.  They have an unclear refund policy, that only applies to 1 -5 years.

Its my opinion that 3 – 5 year terms are too long, given the nature of webhosting space and bandwidth grow cheaper.

Webhostingstuff’s 11 – 20 September 2010

vexxhosting.com

https://hosting-reviews-exposed.com/webhostingstuff-com/vexxhost.html

In 6 months they average a 60% customer approval on webhostingstuff.com

Complaints are in regards to slow servers, front page hijacking, and shutdowns without warning.

At the bottom of a list of many fake awards is their own fake review site fake review site webhostingdt.com

hostek.com

https://hosting-reviews-exposed.com/webhostingstuff-com/hostek.html

Terms of service not accessible from the main page, and can only be found by attempting to order an account.

Owned by a company called Advanced Online Solutuions(AOS (the company)).

Burden of proof of down time is on the customer, terms of service protects from almost all forms of down time.

topgreenhost.com

https://hosting-reviews-exposed.com/webhostingstuff-com/topgreenhost.html

A greengeeks.com site.  They claim to be green but have not proof of it.

Webhostingstuff’s 21 – 25 September 2010

cyberhostpro.com

Cyberhostpro – Cyberhostpro.com where is the terms of service?

Another site that you have to go through the order form to find the terms of service.

They bill for resource usage by the day (not month),  not a hosting company you want to have when on vacation.

banahosting.com

Banahosting – Banahosting.com thinks they can control you

Other then this crazy assumption that being on their site is a form of accepting the terms of service, there is not much I can find wrong with this site.

Other the terms of service is on the light side and they appear on whs’s top 25 list.

i7net.net is on webhostingstuff’s 25th spot

While I write a summary in November, its worth noting that this site has appeared June, September, October, and November 2010 on this top 25 list.  Problem is not the 72% uptime, its that the site has a cPanel error screen since I looked at the site back in June 2010.

These 6 hosts are 6 more reasons why you should not trust webhostingstuff as a unbiased source for webhosting reviews.

w3centric.com – More Michael Low ventures

I found w3centric when I was looking over my search engine results.  I was not sure why someone would find my site using that term until I did a search of my own on what w3centric was.  It brought me straight to the domain w3centric.com.  It show cased less then a dozen sites all belonging to one Michael Low.  It does not appear that like webhostingstuff.com and hostaz.com, that this site or the others I have not seen before are blocking me.  I come to suspect that webhostingstuff and hostaz are on a single server.  These other ventures are not on that server as I clearly see them. Hostaz and webhostingstuff are clearly show cased on the front page.  But what I find intresting is that two words are not found any where on this site, “unbiased reviews”.  Instead its:

About W3Centric

The Company W3Centric Network is a privately owned web development company. We own a number of popular web sites catering to a large web audience.

Each month we serve millions of unique visitors from around the globe. Over 100 million ad impressions are served through our network of web properties every month.

W3Centric is profitable, enjoys excellent revenue growth and market reach worldwide. Our web audience and ad clients are primarily from North America and Europe.

Is this where Michael Low tells the truth, that webhostingstuff and hostaz are nothing more then profit ventures? That the true function is no about ranking, but rankings per pay?  I don’t see any ads on these sites.  Granted webhostingstuff is paid positioning and hostaz is nothing more then an elaborate review site designed to look like a consumer reports for those looking for hosting. So lets see if I can give him a reason to be paranoid and block people every where for no reason at all on these sites.

w3centric.com – 4printerinkcartridges.com

This is the first ‘web property’.  First of all on the ink cartridges that are show cased on the main page can be obtain cheaper or near the same cost at Amazon.com.  Keep in mind you only have to spend $25 to get free shipping (unless you have Amazon Prime), where as with this site you need to spend $50 to get free shipping. My own thoughts: The first thing that bothers me is there is not clear contact page.  Only a list of products to buy.   This is a outdated design, most of graphics are not loading.  perhaps thats because they are loading from the whs / hostaz server? But then again perhaps you can bypass Michael Low for the company he is an affilate with http://www.myinks.com

w3centric.com -4discountcontactlenses.net

The second ‘web property’.  I am not expert on contact lenses, but like the last site there is not a very clear contact link. So if there is something wrong with your order.  But perhaps it would be best to just avoid this Micahel Low and go straight to the company he is an affilate with 1800contacts.com.

w3centric.com -hostrated.com

The third ‘web property’ and the third review site.   I wish that there was enough to go on here to write a review about this hosting review site, but there is not.  Clearly this site is dedicated to any host that has an affilate program.  The first 6 sites belong to Endurance International Group.  All of which have large payouts per sign up.  Clearly there is nothing to indicate why these hosts are in the 1 – 15 spots.

w3centric.com – 4discountshoes.com

The 4th site is starting to reveal a pattern in Michael Low’s business practices, because this site is nothing more then an affiliate for shoebuy.com.

w3centric.com – 4orientalrugs.net

The 5th site no surprise, an affiliate of rugman.ca.

w3centric.com – 4homefitnessequipment.com

The 6th site is an affilate of bigfitness.com.  I have to say this site is the worst design of them all.  No wonders on the main site they have a picture of coming soon.

W3centric.com – 4gemstonejewelry.com

The 7th site has no affiliate, because its not even up.

I don’t see any thing in relation to ad impressions on w3centric or any other site owned by Michael Low

But this is what I do see:

The Team The W3Centric team is led by CEO Michael Low. Michael has more than 10 solid years of hands-on experience in e-marketing, site design and e-business management.

He also posseses academic qualifications in the banking and financial services industry. Combining his unique expertise in e-business and solid financial training, Michael successfully led the W3Centric team in creating one of the largest network of niche web properties.

I would like to thank whoever it was that found my site by typing in ‘w3centric Michael Low’. In the end the only site of any unique business model is webhostingstuff.com.  None of these sites smacks of any ‘financial’ creditability.Asides for w3centric, all the rest are just cheap attempts at being an affiliate.

webhostingstuff- November 2010 top 25 list

Since I just got a new connection set up I figured the first place I would go would be webhostingstuff November 2010 list.  Still as before I have friends that are being blocked when they tried to assist me with getting information from this phony review site.

https://hosting-reviews-exposed.com/webhostingstuff-com/webhostingstuff-is-blocking-me.html

The blocking strategy boggles the mind.

This time around there is not a huge change over like last month with the hosts that appear on the top 25.  For that matter I find only one of the hosts that enter the list to be of huge interest.  Even though I see two young sites one a year old another not even a month old.   2 which names don’t even appear to have anything to do with websites.

Amazingly Hostgator is now in the number 1 postion, even though they are the only main stream host to stick with WHS.  Still not sigh of the Endurance International Group sites on the top 25, unless of coarse they bought someone on the list.

Webhostingstuff top 1 – 10 most popular hosting companies

Despite my marking  cirtexhosting.com there is no new hosts this month in the 1 – 10 rankings.

Webhostingstuff top 11 – 20 most popular hosting companies

4 new hosts in the 11 – 20 spot.  The first 2 look like there a place you store data as opposed to have websites up.

hostinglocker.com, which remarkable with zero reviews and a domain that was created on October 22, 2010 gets the 11th spot

aquariusstorage.com

siteground.com, which I have know about for some time.  I have no idea why siteground would be paying for a ranking on this fake review site especially when they have the most reviews I have seen on the top 25.  343 reviews with a 80% ranking is not a bad thing.   I suspect I will find a lot of interesting stuff on siteground when it comes time to do their post.  WHS’s own rankings that can be seen by going to the page for site ground have them at:

Traffic Popularity: #21 of 12,009 companies

wooservers.com, which was created 11/10/2009  I suppose its possible a site that is just over a year old can be at the 19th spot.

Webhostingstuff top 21 – 25 most popular hosting companies

No new hosts are in the top 21 – 25 spot

Buttt………………………….

Webhostingstuff has i7net.net at 21 STILL!!!!!

For full details as to why I find this odd you can go to https://hosting-reviews-exposed.com/webhostingstuff-com/i7net.html for full details on a webhost thats not been online most of this year.

It still seems that its going down hill for webhostingstuff

Banahosting – Banahosting.com thinks they can control you

Banahosting is my last host of  7 of webhostingstuff.com September 2010 list..  I seem to be on a roll with hosts that do not feel they need to have their terms of service link at the bottom of their site.  Though this host actually does have a link for the terms of service called “Terms and Conditions”.  But this site is a bit diffrent, even though they don’t have a link in the usual location.  The link where you might find the terms of service on the bottom of their page they have “Using this site means you accept its terms”,  Next to a privacy statement.   I may be no expert on legal mumble jumble but I do believe you would have to have the opportunity to actually read the terms of service before you can accept the tos.

This text on banahosting is not linked to the terms of service

Its my opinion that very text is unprofessional.  By being on a site does not bind one to the terms of service.  Nor the use of the site, it would be the use of services that binds you to terms of service which you generally agree to when you sign up for service.

Chances are you are here because you wanted to find out more about banahosting, and not to see what new post I might have put up, maybe you have a complaint against banahosting.  Rest assured I am not going to hold you to any terms.

So what else can I find wrong with banahosting?

To be honest there is not much to go by.  The terms of service seem a bit weak, but otherwise I can find no problems.  I am sure things such as $20 to get a dedicated server turned back on might be a gripe.  Fee outside of the hosting fees as non-refundable also not something I see as an issue.

The only thing that irks me about banahosting.com is the assumption that you agree to their terms just by using their site.

Granted there is not a lot out there on this host that was formed back in February 2007.   This may be a host that I revisit at a later date.  Perhaps due to feed back I may get on this post.  I have to wonder why banahosting choose to get on webhostingstuff’s top 25.

Cyberhostpro – Cyberhostpro.com where is the terms of service?

Cyberhostpro is my sixth host out of  7 of webhostingstuff.com September 2010 list.  There is not a lot that I can tell you from just a simple search and once over look of the site.  There are not a lot of reviews out there.  The site is 5 years old.  I can tell you from what I seen they used to be housed on servers in the U.S. but changed over to a U.K. network.  Not that I ever made a big deal about what nation I was in.  I felt that if I did I might alienate someone.   Though it was not uncommon knowledge that every site that I did, operated under the U.S. Dollar.  Though towards the end I wanted to get a system up that would charge a customer based on their country.  Its a maddning system I admit given how many forms of currency are out there, and what it would take to have it up to date.  I could go on far longer on this blog post on currency exchanges then I could on cyberhostpro.  But lets look at the one thing that is missing on the main page, the tos (i.e. terms of service).  Granted this post may be one of my worst as I am battling a cold.  So while I am rather sleepy, I am also restless.  I am not one of those that can sleep out a disease, if I was the cold would probable have been gone sooner.  So here is my dieased ridden mind’s thoughts on cyberhostpro.

So where is the terms of service on cyberhostpro?

I am not sure what is with these hosts that are not up front with their terms of service.  As I indicated the merchants I dealt with are sticklers for that. They would look for that as well as the contact page.   If I had a banner up they we defiantly be asking about that. Keep in mind when I shopped around for merchant accounts I was looking for the lowest cost.   I tend to think most people do not know what rates to look for.  For me I can’t say I did either, but I am well aware of what percentage of my client billings are taken from me.  I tend to think that whomever companies such as cyberhostpro choose for a merchant really do not care about things such as terms of service and contact information.  I think they are more concerned about what suckers they can get under the high rates and hidden fees.  Never mind you may have absolutely no charge back protection.  Unless a host can adapt beyond such a merchant they will never be able to get into the big leagues of hosting.

Ok the cold medicine is making me get off subject, where is that terms of service of cyberhostpro?

Like prior hosts that are not showing the terms of service up front, they have it at the finale step of ordering.

http://www.cyberhostpro.com/company/acceptable-use-policy/

Here is what I find as a red flag with cyberhostpro in their terms of service

Limit Over usage

If you go over your disk space they will be a charge of
£10.00 per 1GB daily fee applied to your account.
If you go over your bandwidth allowance they will be a charge of
£1.00 per 1GB daily fee applied to your account.

Notice that was a daily fee.   Perhaps you took off for a 7 day vacition.   During those 7 days you were over 3 gigs of space.  This means you come back to a charge of £210.  I am not sure at this what a pound is to the dollar.  But last I remembered it was about %170 the value of a dollar.  Not exactly a small fee to endure every day.

One finale thought on cyberhostpro

Its a little odd after doing a post on manashosting, that when I do a review of cyberhostpro I find the same exact bot with the picture of a pretty girl thats really not a person that offers you a chat.  Both of which are annoying and bounce around the screen and follow you until you close it.   Unfortunatly I can’t seem to get the same one thats is on manashosting to reappear.

Its almost like Jane works for both Manashosting and Cyberhostpro.

Manashosting – manashosting.com is a spammer

Manashosting is not a host that I had in my sights, at least until they decided to spam my personal email account.  For that matter the only valid email on this account would be from friends, family, and places I do personal shopping on (i.e. Amazon.com).  Its not an email that I ever did business with as its a Yahoo account that I have had around 15 years.

But that did not stop an email from [email protected] subject Domain reseller.  With links to manashosting.com.

Interestingly they are spamming from India, for  a hosting account on theplanet.com for manahosting.com.  While I have filed a complaint with theplanet, I don’t have a lot of confidence in getting this resolved.   After all not the first time I have dealt with them in regards to spam complaints.  They are really bad about not dealing with Copy Right complaints.

Manashosting has a ton of complaints out there

Its my opinion that most if not all of the positive feed back was done by manashosting.  I say this because this host has more negative complaints then any of the previous hosts that I have reviewed.

http://www.web-hosting-top.com/web-hosting/web-hosting-top.manashosting.com/type/add-review

What does webhostingstuff have to say about manashosting?

Inrestingly one of the good things about webhostingstuff is they collect reviewer websites.  The first that catches my attention is:

Great service (Excellent)
– by Leena (varsityguru.com) on 5 September 2010

Have been with manashosting they are very good. I have never faced any sorts of problems with them and now i have taken up their reseller ship as well. Am glad i can make extra money with out losing my peace of mind. Thank you every on

So who does this website belong to?

So they owned the domain, and its expired.  Interestingly most of the sites with excellent reviews I have looked at are not pointing to manashosting, or have privacy protection so you can not see who they are.

There are still a lot of sites with complaints about manashosting

http://www.consumercomplaints.in/complaints/manas-hosting-sucks–manas-hosting-not-recommended-c143011.html

http://www.webhostingreviews.com/manas-hosting-reviews-page2.htm

http://www.ashishmehta.com/blog/2008/12/website-owners-beware/

and more…….

Here is even a blog dedicated to complaints against them:

http://manashostingreviews.blogspot.com/

Then there is this post which is the whole reason I advise against keeping your domain with the same company you host with:

http://www.seo-mind.com/seo-mind/manas-hosting-sucks.html

If you want to part with your money and your domain, manashosting is for you, otherwise don’t accept offers by spam.

topgreenhost – is topgreenhost.com another greenwashed hosting company?

Topgreenhost is my fifth host out of  7 of webhostingstuff.com September 2010 list.  Oddly this site makes me think of hostgator  design.  As you probable guessed its another host that claims to be green.  I call it a green washed company as their big method of being green is energy credits.  So far there has not been a host that I have looked at that does not buy energy credits.  If your read my previous posts on the top of green hosting, you will know that I call this green washing.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greenwashing

Greenwashing (a portmanteau of “green” and “whitewash“) is a term describing the deceptive use of green PR or green marketing in order to promote a misleading perception that a company’s policies or products (such as goods or services) are environmentally friendly.

So about that Topgreenhost EPA partnership

When you click on the EPA Green Power Partner link it takes you to http://greengeeks.com/going-green/epa-partner.php

So either they belong to green geeks a host that I reviewed before, or they thought they could piggy back off of Green geeks links.

https://hosting-reviews-exposed.com/uncategorized/greengeeks-sucks.html

If you read through you will see I contacted the EPA, and the EPA in a nutshell said.

1. This is a program that allows companies to boast that they buy energy credits.

2. The EPA does not actually confirm that a company is still buying energy credits.  There is a lack of true oversight.

So does topgreenhost belong to greengeeks?

Off to Domain Dossiair where I find that topgreenhost.com is less then a year old:

But lets look at the trace routes:

Topgreenhost

17 32 32 32 69.175.109.75 ns54.websitehostserver.net

Greengeeks

11 29 29 29 69.175.12.61 ecosys.websitehostserver.net

That seems to confirm that Greengeeks owns topgreenhost.  Along with that EPA link.

When I went to http://topgreenhost.com/topgreenhost-green.html I thought this host was similar to some host.  I could not think of who.  At least until I clicked on that epa link which brought me straight to green geeks.  But the trace route makes me wonder if they have their own servers or if they are part of another company.

So why is topgreenhost cheaper then greengeeks for the same package?

I suspect that topgreenhost was made because the unlimited market is extremely competitive.  If you look around enough you find that hosting companies are constantly lowering the price for a unrealistic package.  If you look through the Endurance International Group’s line up hosts you will find the same package ranging between $3 – $20.   As a former hosting provider I can tell you that I encountered a lot of people that were more concerned with cost that an actual service.  The humor of it was the people that claimed to be losing thousands over less then an ten minutes of downtime.  Never mind the hosting account they purchased may have been $1.99 a month.  While cheap does not always indicate inferior service, it defiantly does not guarantee quality service.

So if you must have a greengeeks account, buy from topgreenhost.  Better yet avoid topgreenhost and find a true green host that does not buy energy credits.

Hostek – is Hostek.com just more hype then substance

Hostek is my forth host out of  7 of webhostingstuff.com September 2010 list.  My first impression is that they are not as old as they claim, just another aged domain.  But the further I investigate my initial impression is not justified.    That does not mean that just because they have been around since the late 90’s that they are a valid webhost, for that matter some hosts that have been around along time do not adapt.  Its pretty visible when they have not adapted, for one their design is a big give away.  The site looks pretty up-to-date.  Its the unlimited space that made me suspect they were working off a aged domain.   In this case its a host that could not adapt what they were doing before so they went for what I call a last ditched effort to keep clients and go the unlimited space route.

The one thing I find missing is the terms of service.

Where is Hostek’s terms of service?

Below at the bottom of any page where you would expect to find links to about, contact and most importantly the terms of service (tos) I find:

Specializing in ColdFusion web hosting. This includes ColdFusion 9 hosting, ColdFusion 8 hosting, ColdFusion reseller hosting. Additionally we offer ColdFusion dedicated hosting and ColdFusion dedicated server hosting. We also offer ColdFusion PHP hosting. We currently do not offer ColdFusion linux hosting. As you will see from any ColdFusion hosting reviews, we are a leader in ColdFusion hosting.

But when I search for “ColdFusion hosting reviews”, Hostek is not on the first page of results.

I have to wonder why boast about something that you can not prove, granted its a boast thats really small and tucked away at the bottom of the screen.  But my problem is that there is no clear link to the terms of the service on the home pages and most of the pages that you might go to, to try and find out more about this host.  I have no idea what merchant provider allows this.  I can only speculate that they either remove it after they are screened or they are with a merchant provider that charges so much they really could care less if a site is in order or not.  Frankly I would love to know who has what merchant it would defiantly aid in determining the quality of a host.  Either way they have earned my distrust by not having an up front terms of service.

I found the hostek terms of service while going through their order process

Its been my experience when there is not a direct link on every page of webhosting site that I could find it by going through the order form.  My assumption was correct.

http://hostek.com/tos.asp

Its the Service level agreement (referred to as the sla) that I find interesting.

http://hostek.com/docs/hostek-SLA.pdf

The terms of serivce have me leery of the company esspecially when you look at what it takes to get credit for a down time.  The way its worded pretty much nothing is their fault, and almost any down time falls under not their responsibility.

Who is Advanced Online Solutions (AOS) and how are they related to Hostek?

They are mentioned at the very top of the terms of service.

THIS AGREEMENT is made and entered between ADVANCED ONLINE SOLUTIONS, INC., 1648 Taylor Road #355, Port Orange, Florida 32128-6753, hereinafter referred to as “the Company” (“the Company” also includes any and all domain names owned by “the Company”) and the Customer, who wishes to use the services of the Company in accordance with this Terms of Service Agreement.

Which seems to me they found a template of a terms of service and were too lazy to use search and replace to put the name of their company in their.   Well thats my opinion, even though I have been told its pretty standard.  But I thought this was Hostek and not “the Company” i.e. AOS, i.e. Adanced Online Solutions, its almost like another version Endurance International Group.

Considering Hostek is webhostingstuff and not direct with there terms of service they are another company I recommend avoiding.
